December’s elf visit has received its final dispatch stamp. ✏️
The paperwork says “Visit completed”. The elf says it has been a very good month.
This elf goodbye idea is a simple farewell with a handmade official-looking finish.
What you’ll need:
- One official Elf on the Shelf doll (paid link)
- Crayola coloured pencils for a handmade departure stamp (paid link)
- Paper or card and your existing pencil case
Setup:
Write “Visit completed” on a broad departure card. Draw a large snowflake inside a circle below it and colour the edge like a pretend stamp. You can add the date and your elf’s name.
Sit the elf beside a pencil case with his back supported. Rest a pencil across his mittens and place the card in front as though he has just finished the final paperwork.
Add a short goodbye underneath, thanking the children for one or two real moments from this December. Leave a blank corner where they can draw a heart or their own small farewell stamp before keeping the card.
Make it cheaply:
Use a pencil already in your drawer and the plain side of an old Christmas card. A drawn stamp looks just as good as bought stamp equipment or new colouring supplies.
