The elf is saying goodbye to his favourite places in the house. 🏠
The kitchen, the sofa, the hallway and the bedtime-story spot have all made his little tour board.
This elf goodbye idea remembers the places where December happened.
What you’ll need:
- One official Elf on the Shelf doll (paid link)
- Crayola coloured pencils for a farewell house-tour board (paid link)
- Four paper cards, packaging cardboard and tape
Setup:
Draw four simple pictures of familiar places on postcard-sized paper. A sofa can stand for the living room, a table for the kitchen and a bed for the bedroom. Use rooms that suit your home; detailed artwork is not needed.
Tape the pictures to a flat cardboard backing and write “My favourite places” at the top. Add one short memory beside each, such as a funny breakfast or a lovely bedtime story.
Sit the elf beside the board against a stable support, with a mitten near one picture. Leave a goodbye inviting the family to remember each place together. They can add their own favourite room or keep the tour board with the elf’s things.
Make it cheaply:
Draw with pencils already in the drawer on the backs of old letters. A cereal-box panel makes the backing, so there is no need to buy craft supplies or print family photographs.
