Our elf has found the address for his journey home. It is written on a parcel, just in case Santa needs reminding. 📦
There is a blank label waiting for the children’s goodbye drawing too.
This elf leaving idea turns pretend post into a final family message.
What you’ll need:
- One official Elf on the Shelf doll (paid link)
- Sticky notes for the North Pole address labels (paid link)
- An empty box, brown paper and a little string
- Paper for a large tag and a pen
Setup:
Wrap an empty box in brown paper and add a note addressed to “Santa Claus, North Pole”. Make the address clearly imaginary: a made-up postcode or a drawn snowflake is enough. Add a second blank label headed “From”.
Sit your elf against the parcel and rest a large “Return to North Pole” tag across his lap. Keep any string around the box or tag, away from the doll’s neck. Put a pen nearby for the children’s label.
Invite them to fill the blank space with a name or goodbye picture. Explain that this pretend parcel goes with your elf on his final night. Remove him and the parcel after bedtime; it is a home display rather than something to put in the post.
Make it cheaply:
Tape scraps of paper to the box instead of buying sticky notes. Reuse a delivery box and its plain packaging paper, or draw the parcel on a folded card. A handwritten address and farewell drawing tell the whole story.
