DJ Jingle is on the decks! Our elf has brought some very loud fashion to the Christmas disco. 🎧
Two jar lids make his pretend records, and a bright yellow miniature boombox sits beside the mixing desk. The toy audience is ready to dance. We can only imagine how many times he’s going to play the same Christmas song.
This funny Elf on the Shelf disco idea pairs a homemade DJ desk with the official Retro Rad outfit. The kit’s standing gear helps the elf stay on his feet while you arrange the little party around him.
What you’ll need:
- One official Elf on the Shelf doll (paid link)
- The official MagiFreez Retro Rad 80’s Gear set (paid link) (shirt, standing legs, sneakers, retro phone and boombox; elf not included)
- A small cardboard box for the DJ desk
- Two clean jar lids and paper circles for the pretend records
- A couple of toy party guests and a handwritten DJ Jingle sign
Setup:
Fit the elf into the kit’s standing legs and sneakers, then add the patterned shirt. Put the little cardboard desk in front of him at mitten height. Place two jar lids on top, each with a coloured paper circle in the centre, and rest a mitten on one lid. Set the yellow boombox and retro phone beside the decks. Arrange two or three toys as the audience and add the DJ sign. A few tiny paper stars make the dance floor look festive without much extra work. The boombox is a prop; play a favourite Christmas song separately if the children want a real disco.
Make it cheaply:
Keep the elf in his red suit and sit him behind the cardboard desk instead. Draw a boombox on a spare box and make the records from black paper circles. The two pretend decks and toy audience are enough to turn him into a DJ.
