This cheerful Christmas elf has been busy getting creative with the play-doh! Using a few colours and some imagination, he’s rolled out a little festive message — mine says “ho ho ho”, but you could spell out “Merry Christmas”, “Be good” or anything you like. It’s one of those easy elf ideas that takes just a couple of minutes to make but looks really fun and colourful.
For an extra touch, pop a few lollies upside down into the tub so they look like a surprise gift. It’s quick, tidy and ideal for when you want a bright, happy setup that doesn’t involve any mess or late-night panic.
What you’ll need:
- One official Elf on the Shelf doll (paid link)
- A few tubs of play-doh or similar (paid link)
- Letter cutters (paid link)
- Optionally, some lollies
Setup:
Sit your elf beside the play-doh with some rolled-out pieces and a festive message spelled in letters or shapes. Add a couple of lollies sticking out of the tub and scatter a few small blobs of play-doh around for realism. It’s a super quick, cheerful last-minute elf idea that adds a splash of colour to your December mornings.
For another festive setup, try elf self-portrait painting or Lego house build.
