The elf has left three final surprises: now, tonight and tomorrow. 💌
They are little family activities, so his Christmas fun can continue after he has gone home.
This elf goodbye idea spreads the farewell across three easy moments.
What you’ll need:
- One official Elf on the Shelf doll (paid link)
- Coloured craft paper for three folded surprise envelopes (paid link)
- Paper slips, a pen and tape
Setup:
Fold three broad envelopes from coloured paper by folding the sides in, turning the bottom up and leaving a flap at the top. Tape the edges and label the fronts “Now”, “Tonight” and “Tomorrow”.
Put one simple activity inside each. For example: draw your favourite elf moment now, choose a bedtime story tonight and share your funniest Christmas joke tomorrow. Pick activities that fit your plans.
Sit the elf beside the envelopes against a supported box and add “Now, tonight, tomorrow”. Leave a goodbye explaining when to open them. The outside needs only the opening time, so each activity stays a surprise.
Make it cheaply:
Reuse three envelopes or fold scrap paper into little packets. The activities can all be free and need no presents, new craft supplies or extra Christmas Eve errands.
