Our elf has declared himself king of Christmas. His first royal decree is biscuits for everyone, so we may let him stay in charge! 👑
He’s sitting on a tiny red-and-white throne with a paper crown around his hat. The teddy and rubber duck have come to hear what else their new ruler has planned.
This funny elf idea uses the Cheery Chair from the official Scout Elves at Play kit. A paper carpet and a couple of toys turn it into a little royal audience.
What you’ll need:
- One official Elf on the Shelf doll (paid link)
- The official Scout Elves at Play kit (paid link) – this scene uses its red-and-white Cheery Chair
- Gold paper or card for a crown
- Purple or red paper for a short carpet
- Two small toy subjects
- Paper and a pen for the royal signs
Setup:
Put the chair on a flat surface and sit your elf securely against its back, with his soft legs resting naturally over the front. Cut a zigzag strip of gold paper and join it into a loose crown around the base of his hat, above the white band. Keep his face clear. Lay the paper carpet from the chair towards the toys, then put the teddy and duck at the other end as his audience. Add “King of Christmas” beside the throne and “Biscuits for everyone!” in front. His mittens can rest on the armrests. The chair is the only kit piece used here; the crown, carpet and signs are homemade extras.
Make it cheaply:
Fold a little throne from a small cardboard box, adding a tall back and two short arms. Colour the seat red and leave the sides white, or decorate it however you like. A folded cloth behind the elf helps him sit comfortably. Make the crown from packaging and draw on pretend jewels. Any two toys can become the royal subjects.
