Our elf has arrived by peppermint balloon! 🎈 Apparently the usual flight from the North Pole wasn’t quite fancy enough this year.

He’s peeping out of his little basket underneath a huge red-and-white balloon, waving hello with a luggage label that says “Next stop: your house!” That’s certainly one way to make an entrance.

This elf arrival idea works beautifully near a doorway or beside the Christmas tree. You can also use it later in December if your elf fancies a sightseeing trip around the living room.

What you’ll need:

Setup:

Inflate and assemble the balloon according to the kit instructions, connecting the basket with the four supports. Sit your elf securely inside the basket with his head and one waving mitten above the rim. Attach the little luggage label to the side and hang the display using the supplied cable and a secure hanging point. The assembled kit is over two feet tall, so leave plenty of room above the basket for that big peppermint balloon!

Make it cheaply:

Tie four lengths of string around an ordinary balloon and attach them to a small folded card basket. Sit your elf inside, then hang the whole display from a secure point using another length of string. Red and white paper strips give a plain basket a peppermint makeover, and a handwritten label finishes the arrival.
